trees and shrubs away from doors and windows.
- Consider the use of anti-shatter
film (ASF) to reduce fragments and splinter.
- New buildings should be designed
with blast-resistant, laminated glass or secondary double-glazing.
- Restrict access points to a
minimum (Emergency Exits must not be considered when restricted
access points).
Internal:
- Ensure window displays do not block visibility.
- Protect valuable stock with
cabinets, grills, alarms and dummy goods.
- Seek advice about suitable
locations for tills and safes.
- Use mirrors or CCTV to monitor
hidden areas and display warning notices.
- Secure IT equipment and data.
- Employ strict key control –
avoid duplication and unauthorized access.
- Consider staff vetting.
